President: Paul Power

Paul Power BA, BEd, MEd, Grad.Dip.Psych (Melbourne) PhD (Johns Hopkins)

Paul is an extremely experienced organisational psychologist and management consultant, whose expertise runs the gamut from educational performance to leadership formation. In 2005 he was the recipient of the prestigious Elton Mayo Award for his contribution to the practice of organisational psychology in Australia. He has published two books, a number of journal articles and has presented numerous conference papers. With Professor John Holland of Johns Hopkins University he developed "My Vocational Situation", an effective vocational assessment tool.

From 1995 to 2008 he was a Director with Hay Group, where he led the leadership and talent practice in Australia and New Zealand. He has worked in partnership with numerous clients, including Departments of Education in Victoria, Tasmania and Queensland; Police services in New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory; commercial organisations such as National Australia Bank, ANZ, Orica, Woodside, Fonterrra, and National Foods. He led the design and delivery team for the ground-breaking national leadership development program for principals from government, catholic and independent schools, which is conducted in collaboration with the University of Melbourne on behalf of Teaching Australia.

 

Secretary, Treasurer and Public Officer: Kim Power

Kim E. Power BA (Melb), BTheol, MTheol (MCD) PhD (Latrobe)

Kim is a former psychologist who became a theologian. Her focus has been on religious anthropology, feminism and the dialogue between religion and theology in the domain of neurobiology and evolutionary psychology. She is the recipient of numerous awards including a Senior Fulbright Scholarship in 1997 and an award for her course design for "Are we hardwired for holiness? From neurobiology to theology".

She is a co-founder of the Golding Centre for the Study of Women's History, Theology and Spirituality at Australian Catholic University. She has written one book, published numerous articles and essays as well as more popular works. She has lectured at La Trobe University, Monash University and Australian Catholic University. She is particularly interested in the nexus between spirituality and human maturity.

 

Committee Member: Edith Martin

In her mid thirties Edith trained to be a nurse, then alternated nursing with office administration until her retirement. She was able to travel widely in her forties and also spent many years working overseas. Since then, Edith's lifelong interest in other cultures and language education has become a fully-fledged passion. She has been able to combine some of her interests by regularly facilitating communication for a client with severe speech impairment, as well as becoming a volunteer ESL tutor to refugee women. AT 62, she graduated from La Trobe University with an Arts degree and in 2004, Edith wrote and self-published A Message from the Clouds, the biography of her grandfather - a remarkable Australian pioneer aviator. With three adult sons and five grand children, Edith is continually grateful for the education opportunities existing in Australia, and yearns for similar advantages to become accessible to children worldwide.

 

 

Committee Member: Matt Power

Matt is the General Manager­Development for the Comdain Group, responsible for all of their property development functions. Formerly he has been involved in managing projects such as Laurimar, Hisense Arena and Etihad Stadium as well as managing sports and entertainment venues including Olympic Park and Melbourne Park. Prior to this, Matt was a Manager with the YMCA and was involved in Health & Fitness as well as Community Development projects. He is married with 3 children and relaxes through: time with his family, exercise, golf and watching Australian Rules football.

 

 

 

Committee Member: Kat Radonic

Kat is an Executive Chef, Management with 25 years experience in the hospitality industry. She has worked in establishments that include a world-class hotel and various upscale establishments and has reputation for building and retaining highly motivated teams. She developed owned and operated two restaurants in Carlton and Richmond. Kat also has strong links to the community, and volunteered her restaurant annually to provide for Christmas to homeless and destitute people. Also, in conjunction with the Richmond ClubHouse, she assists Schizophrenia sufferers obtain training and experience in some aspects of the hospitality industry to help them find future employment. She is also on the Neighbourhood Watch committee and editor of their monthly newsletter.
